Nuvyyo Tablo review

Tablo is a slick device with a sweet interface even a tech novice can love.

Easy installation and setup ; Can be set up where best for antenna ; Well-designed tablet apps ; Remote access to live and recorded TV

Only one USB port works at a time ; No dedicated smartphone apps ; Hard drive and subscription add to cost

It’s hard not to like the Tablo. Setting it up is easy, the app is intuitive and looks good, and it streams to a number of devices in or out of the home. Granted, its up-front cost may seem a little steep, but considering the savings that can be had on...

Nuvyyo Tablo review: A geek-friendly DVR for over-the-air TV

Nuyvvo's Tablo is one of the most promising over-the-air recording solutions in years, but there are just enough quirks to keep it in early-adopter territory.

The Nuvyyo Tablo streams live and recorded over-the-air TV signals to other devices in your home, including iOS and Android devices, Roku boxes, Apple TV (using AirPlay) and Chromecast. Image quality is excellent on the highest setting, outpacing...

Doesn't automatically allot extra time for recording sporting events, or remind you to, which means you can miss the end of the game. The best way to watch TV in the living room is using a Roku box, but there's no 30-second skip on its Roku app, and...

Fantastic little device for cord cutters

We anted to get rid of our cable/satellite subscription - tired of paying nearly $100/mo for 500+ channels when we only watched 10 max. It was a little confusing to set up out of the box but it still only took me about an hour to go from the box to...

Great picture, easy to use - NO subscription service required

a little difficult to set up

Tablo Terrible Documentation

Constant Reloads despite good antenna, good wifi. Getting info for us non-techies painful. Info scattered across forums, masses of tickets submitted, buggy firmware, klutsy control via smart phone, takes hours for a factory reset. You need a Masters...

poor tv tuner

Like the TiVo Roamio, the tuner on the Tablo is less capable than the native tv tuner of my Samsung LED tv! The tablo finds fewer stations from the same OTA antenna and streams poorly what it does get. Recordings are of terrible quality with many...

Feels like going back to a DVR from the stone ages

The Tablo promised to be a great over the air DVR. Sadly the implementation has failed to meet the promise. When trying to watch a recording it feels like going back to the stone ages.

Easy to set up, Built in wifi, Image quality

Hard to fast forward, Cannot restart show from where you stopped, Frequent playback freezes, Must have an iPad or a Roku

The Best Cord Cutting DVR Replacement Option Yet for the Price

I have been searching for years, and I means years, for a solid replacement for my satellite provider DVR. The first obvious option is Tivo, and I am a huge Tivo fan, but $15 a month per Tivo box just for guide data just felt a little pricey (although...

Image quality / recording quality is excellent, Built in Wifi, Support a large array of devices most people have at least one of, Low Monthly Fee

Roku App Needs updating (hard to Fast Forward through commercials)

Looks good on paper. All I can say without an Ipad.

I've owned the same HDTV for more than 5 years now. It's a very decent TV but just old enough to lack an ATSC tuner. Seeing the winter approaching, I decided 6 months ago to make something out of it. Reading positive over positive reviews, it became...

• Certainly not the worst ATSC tuner around • Wi-Fi support • Very Promising based on reviews for iOS

• Support for things Nuvyyo didn't previously supported though the JetStreamHD is coming very slow • Outdated platform
